Potent Jamaican Black Castor Oil for Eyebrows and Lashes

Potent Jamaican Black Castor Oil for Eyebrows and Lashes

Recently, we described the versatility of Jamaican Black Castor Oil (JBCO) and named some of the ways you can use the ingredient for personal care and beauty. In that article, you can learn for yourself how JBCO can provide pain relief and improve your body’s ability to absorb vitamins. There are also, of course, its well-known benefits on the hair and skin.

However, those are only a few of the many positive effects that JBCO can have on you. This oil can have remarkable properties, especially when prepared with our own formula. Just to give you a hint, here is some information on how you can use it for your eyebrows and lashes.

How Can JBCO Help?

JBCO is something of a cure-all for hair. It can halt hair loss in its tracks, then regain ground on your scalp and regenerate what was lost. The nutrients in the oil can take care of split ends, repair the damage, and even moisturize your locks.

The oil’s benefits are not limited to the hair on your scalp, but also to the hair surrounding your peepers. JBCO is popular among those who desire thicker eyebrows and more voluminous eyelashes. This is not without reason: this type of castor oil is naturally rich in ricinoleic acid, which can greatly nurture the growth of your follicles.

Applying JBCO to Your Eyebrows and Lashes

With all of these potential benefits, you may be thinking of trying JBCO on a whim. If so, then you need to be more than just intrigued. Like with any other treatment you might do for your body, you need to be committed.

With that out of the way, applying JBCO to your lashes and brows is quite simple. You only need to pick up a tablespoon of oil (just a few drops!) with a spoolie brush, or even just a cotton ball. Then, you rub it onto your lashes or brows as if you are doing your make-up.

Note that you must do this treatment every night, then wash it off in the morning. We advise applying the JBCO about an hour before you go to sleep, so the oil can settle in nicely. Repeat this process until you get the results you like.

Additional Information

Pure JBCO may be too thick for some people’s liking. If it feels dense and uncomfortable, you may want to mix it with other substances for less viscosity. For eyebrow application, you could mix a tablespoon of JBCO with a tablespoon of aloe vera gel, or with half a tablespoon of Vaseline. For eyelash treatments, you may instead want to mix a tablespoon of olive or almond oil.

There are a few side effects that you may want to know before using JBCO. The oil’s ricinoleic acid may irritate the skin and the stomach. People who are pregnant or breastfeeding may first want to consult their physician. As you may expect, you should avoid ingesting JBCO.

You may also experience another, more curious side effect: deeper sleep. People can use this exact practice, applying JBCO on your lashes before bedtime, as a treatment for insomnia. Even if you are not setting out to cure sleeplessness, you may still want to set an alarm if you try this.
